My name is Sam Neilson, and I am the sole creator, writer, and administrator behind Of Profit and Policy. I am 24 years old and live in Newcastle, Australia.

In 2019, I graduated with Honours from the University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Commerce, where I majored in Politics, Economics, and Finance. I worked briefly at financial data and software company FactSet from Nov 2019 to March 2020 before completing my Diploma of Financial Planning. I have since been working as a Paraplanner and am very grateful to currently be part of the team at Pitcher Partners.

my mission

I have a strong belief in the pursuit of knowledge and self-improvement, and my passion for everything politics, economics, and finance is evident to all those around me.

Prior to the creation of Of Profit and Policy, I found myself spending hours researching current issues – tearing through news articles, research papers, market updates – learning as much as possible and desperate to form my own opinions. Of Profit and Policy gives me the opportunity to share what I have learned and track my development.
